Privacy at reefcares.org
We teach people to recognize when they’re being tricked, so we won’t trick you about your data. This page says plainly what we collect when you visit reefcares.org, why, and what we never do.
What we never do
- We never sell your information.
- We never try to identify who you are from your visit.
- We never track your exact location. The most we see is a general area, like a city or country.
What we measure, and why
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to count how people use this site: which pages they visit, which buttons they click, how far they read, and roughly where in the world they are. We see these as totals, not as a file on any one person. We use them to learn what helps people and what loses them, so we can make the site better.
We also use Google Ads to tell people about our work, and Google tells us when someone who clicked an ad goes on to book a call with us. These tools use cookies, small files your browser keeps. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out tool at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
When you contact us or book a call
If you email us or book a call, we keep your name, email and what you tell us so we can follow up. We keep those records in HubSpot, our contact system. Bookings run through YouCanBook.me, and donations through PayPal; each handles your information under its own privacy policy.
Videos, fonts and links
Some pages show YouTube videos and use fonts from Google. Those services may log your visit under their own policies. Links to our Substack, PayPal and other sites take you to places with their own policies.
Children
Our site is written for adults: parents, educators and professionals. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Your choices
Email billy@reefcares.org to ask what we have about you, or to have it deleted. We’ll answer.
Changes
As our work grows, so will this page, and we’ll always say what changed and when.
